Skin tightening V Botox

The difference between skin tightening and botox

It’s easy to get caught up with the hustle and bustle of day to day life, sometimes our skincare routine can go out of the window, especially leading up to Christmas. It’s only natural, however there are bespoke treatments like Skin tightening that you can benefit from on the days where life simply just takes over. For the days where you simply don’t want to do it or have no time, you don’t have to worry about losing any effects of such routines as tailored and bespoke non-invasive treatments could be the answer.

In this article, we’re going to do a direct comparison on two types of treatments you can use alongside your skincare routines: Skin tightening and Botox. Apart from the obvious difference that skin tightening is non-invasive with no downtime and Botox is a treatment that is invasive, what else do they both offer? If you want to find out – carry on reading.

Introducing skin tightening

When it comes to Skin tightening in Nottingham, there are a number of bespoke treatments you can get, from 3D Hifu, 3D Shockwave and 3D RF Face & Body. Our skin tightening treatments involve using radio frequency that targets specific layers of fat cells directly under your skin. This is all done using a hand-held medical device that is placed on top of your skin and pulses are sent through your skin. This activates existing collagen and encourages new collagen reproduction that is effective in lowering fat cells and tightening your skin for firmer, younger looking appearances.

Skin tightening and no downtime

A part from providing lasting benefits after your bespoke skin tightening treatment, you also have no downtime. This means:

  • No resting
  • No days off
  • No laying in bed (even though that sounds lovely)
  • Get straight back to what you were doing
  • Seeing benefits quickly

The best thing about the skin tightening treatments is that they are non-invasive. You can target specific areas without having to piercing the skin and face any pain during the treatment. It can also mean a part from firmer and younger looking skin, you won’t be left with any other visible effects like scars or bruising. This is especially effective in people who experience sagging or wrinkles and this can improve elasticity.

What is botox?

Botox is an injection that isn’t a filler but more of a muscle paralyser. It targets creases that are likely to occur but years of repeated movements. Of course, the big difference is that this has to be injection into your skin and will essentially freeze the muscle to prevent any wrinkles or creasing from occurring, which again, results in tighter skin.

Another obvious difference is that whilst you won’t necessarily see the ‘negative effects’ of non-invasive skin tightening, this isn’t always the case with botox. You will see swelling and some bruising due to the nature of the treatment. If Botox is something you’re considering then you have to have realistic expectations for the results. It is safe for all ages but it does have to penetrate your skin and you will have some down time due to sensitivity and bruising or redness.
